Welcome to another edition of Extra Food Chat with Kath!
It’s been a while between cookbook updates! I didn’t think it was that long ago since I did one, but it was actually back in November last year that I did a proper update. As always I’m never sure how much progress I have to share until I start writing these, and while I would have hoped to achieve more, there’s a few things to share.
If you’ve missed previous cookbook updates - I’m writing a new cookbook, focused on baking! Below are is the previous update on the BTS and recipe creation.
As with previous months, I have been trying to focus on recipes that use in season fruit so I can make the most of things whilst they are in season. I’ve been playing around with citrus, mostly bergamot and blood orange, and refining recipes, getting new images and retesting things, plus coming up with a few new ideas too.
I’ve also had some lovely conversations with people around cookbook titles and things like that (thank you Kim!), which has very much help me refine some ideas for the title of this book.
I know I mentioned I was going to try and spend time at the end of last year working on my cookbook proposal…. but that didn’t happen. Things got busy, and continued to be so into the new year and beyond. I am also definitely avoiding it for some reason. I think it’s currently the least ‘fun’ task on the cookbook to do list, plus I am hesitant to spend time on it, when I am struggling to spend lots of time on the cookbook itself week to week. Any suggestions on how to prioritise this or how to make it seem less ‘not fun’ are welcome!
