Welcome to another edition of Extra Food Chat with Kath!
I last checked in with you about my cookbook project in April, and now somehow it’s July so I suppose it’s time for another update! If you missed my news earlier in the year about beginning to write and recipe develop a new cookbook you can catch up here.
When I was thinking about what I could update you on regarding my cookbook, I sort of thought there probably wasn’t that much.
Then I looked at my phone camera roll and realised actually I have done some things!
In my last cookbook update I mentioned that my next upcoming photoshoot for the book was going to be for some scones. When I had the scones all ready and the shoot was all set up, I turned my trusty camera of almost 10 years on, to find it would no longer work!
After much to and fro, and close to two months, it turned out I had to buy a new camera. So between being camera-less and having lots of client recipe development work to do since my last cookbook update, I felt like I was getting behind in my cookbook work (add to that doing a weekly newsletter and a mostly twice monthly paid newsletter, and another two day a week job, plus chronic illness, I often wonder how I ever thought doing another cookbook was ever going to be feasible!).
After all that, and now looking through my camera roll, I did get a few recipes tested and I did manage to take the photos of the scones! I don’t know if I’m 100% happy with the scone images (pictured at the top of this email) and I may re-shoot. I think I felt like I hadn’t done much as no recipe is completely finished - all are still in some kind of test stage, or waiting for me to be able to take photos of them and fully tick them off the list.
