Let’s Make it a Cake Filled Weekend
For Cosy Time in the Kitchen - Friday Food Chat with Kath
It’s been raining a lot here, which means it’s the perfect weather to bake.
Here are some recipes I think would make a nice cosy bake for this weekend.
This Quince Crumble Cake was shared with my paid subscribers last weekend. It’s the perfect Autumnal cake, and I’ve also included the recipe and lots of tips for cooking quince, plus a variation to use poached pears instead.

This Passionfruit and Macadamia Oil Cake would be a lovely way to brighten up these dreary days.
These super simple scones are a great recipe to make if you don’t have a lot of time to bake, but would still like to make something. You can freeze any leftovers so there’s a nice treat waiting for you whenever you’d like it.
Here are some recipes you can make even if you don’t have a stand mixer (or similar) or just don’t feel like getting it out and using it this weekend.

Crema di Pistacchio Cake
This is one of my favourite cakes, I love pistachio and the combination of this cake and the icing really make the pistachio flavour shine. Use a good quality Pisatchio spread here, something with 30% or more pistachios in it.
