The Easter baking has finally begun!
Starting me off this Easter baking season, are these White Chocolate Chai Hot Cross Buns.
I first made these a few years ago, after I got some of this ground chai spice blend. I paired it with some Caramilk baking chips and that batch of hot cross buns turned out very nice indeed!
This year I decided I needed to make them again, and actually record and share the recipe.
I’ve used the same chai spice mix as I did originally, anything like this that is ground up into a powder will work well especially if it is more a spice blend than a chai latte blend. You can also create your own if you have a few spices at home (cardamom, ginger, cinnamon etc). I do recommend the one I’ve linked from Gewürzhaus however, it has a great flavour and is excellent for baking.
I’ve used white chocolate chips or bits for this recipe. Caramilk baking chips are also great, just stick to something like a chocolate chip that will hold its shape whilst baking.
Have you started making hot cross buns yet? I think another batch are in my near future!
