Welcome to another edition of Extra Food Chat with Kath.
Thank you for subscribing and supporting my work. I am so happy to have you here and be able to share more with you.
Along with the Heirloom Recipe series I began last month (you can find the first recipe here if you missed it), I am planning to bring you more food chat over here on Extra Food Chat with Kath.
This week, while I continue working on the next heirloom recipe (it needs a few alterations before I can share it!), I wanted to share with you some recent additions to my cookbook shelves that I have been enjoying.
Most of these books are relatively new releases, and while they weren’t included in my Cookbooks Worth Waiting for Lists on my blog, they are no less worthy of being added to your cookbook collection.
In Belinda’s Kitchen by Belinda Jeffery - I’m a sucker for cookbooks with illustrated covers, so Belinda Jeffery’s new book ‘In Belinda’s Kitchen’ ticked all the aesthetic boxes for me. A lot of the recipes in this book have been published by Belinda in previous cookbooks in the early 2000s, however some changes have been made (as is the way with recipes over time!). I don’t own any of Belinda’s earlier work so these recipes are all new to me. If you do have Belinda’s earlier cookbooks and still use them regularly you may find this book doubles up a bit for you, so probably one to take a look through before you buy if that’s the case. In terms of recipes, I am very keen to try a couple of things from the Seafood chapter - Red salmon basil and Parmesan fish cakes (p.87) and Thai fish cakes with cucumber salad (p.80).
